ISO 14001 has a new version – end of declarations, start of evidence

Jiří Staník
The international standard ISO 14001 has been updated and companies now face an emphasis on demonstrability instead of formal declarations. In practice, this means more detailed work with data, internal processes, and the audit trail.
The new version shifts expectations toward measurable outputs and demonstrable management of environmental impacts. For organizations, this means not only revising documentation but also better integration of the management system into daily operations.
For companies that already report ESG, the change is also important for consistency between certification, regulatory reporting, and the requirements of partners in the supply chain.
